01 / The Challenge

When care becomes routine, identity can disappear.

Rich memories, skills and life stories are often reduced to brief care-plan notes. Staff want to listen, families want to preserve a loved one's voice, and residents want to feel known—but there is rarely a simple process for capturing those stories.

Raw phone recordings do not solve the problem. Long, unstructured audio is difficult to revisit and easy to forget. The real design challenge was conversion: turn natural speech into clear, meaningful memories while keeping the resident's words, consent and dignity intact.

One calm workflow from spoken memory to shared story.

The MVP is deliberately narrow: help a resident speak, help staff shape and verify the story, then share it securely with family.

A large tap-to-talk interface and guided prompts reduce navigation and dexterity demands.

Speech-to-text and AI-assisted formatting turn raw audio into readable story formats without inventing facts.
